Plasticum Develops Revolutionary Lightweight 65 Mm Over Cap
The objective was therefore highly focussed on efficiency improvement and lower integral costs, yet also with an eye on environmental market requirements.
14 Sep 2012 --- Plasticum, market leader in aerosol caps, recognises the market need for high quality, cost-efficient and eco-friendly products. Therefore Plasticum developed Sunshine, a lightweight 65 mm over cap for ambitious customers in the technical aerosol market. Sunshine is unique and distinguishes itself from the competition.
Sunshine has been developed in conjunction with partners in the industry to set a new market standard for the next decade, without changing product dimensions. The objective was therefore highly focussed on efficiency improvement and lower integral costs, yet also with an eye on environmental market requirements.
Sunshine is automatically layer-packed by a robot, which leads to a higher packaging density. Layer-packing provides all kinds of logistical improvements and significant savings in operational handling to customers.
Next to the logistic advantages, Sunshine offers quality benefits. Thanks to the solid layers and firm stacking, the caps remain perfectly round shaped, resulting into substantial efficiency improvements on the customer’s high-speed filling lines.
By selecting a special raw material, mechanical properties are maintained. In addition, the material saving as well as the efficiency improvement gives a considerable reduction of the carbon footprint. And, less weight also means less packaging tax.
The standard 65 mm over cap has a height of 50 mm and targets the technical aerosol market, such as paints, oils, glues, etc. Extensive line tests at customers have proven excellent results. Sunshine will be available by the end of September 2012 and will be produced at the plant in Tilburg. Plasticum can state that Sunshine indeed makes the future brighter!
